ARE YOU A GOOD LISTENER?



Have you guys ever thought about what it means to be a good listener? In one of my classes, I learned how crucial it is to be a good listener. Whether you are working in a bank, or a retail store, communication is always the key. I decided to take a test, and to find out how strong are my communication skills.

Being a good listener is very important in life. Being a good listener means being respectful towards the person talking, listening carefully, and responding to the person on the other side. Our body language is also important; we need to be careful what moves do we make with our hands, legs and our facial gesture also, because it reveals a lot.  We have to use positive gesture, be patient, respectful and engaged. I work in the customer service field so listening is one of the most important factors in my workplace. Some people are even fascinated that I’m able to complete their sentences. I can say that I am a good listener because all of my friends, even though they are far away, still call me to ask me for advices and help. I make eye contact while listening, I smile, and I pay attention to everything that people say to me. Being a good listener is not only about listening to what people have to say to you, it is about responding and helping them in any way we can.
